The L-J Ranch mother herd of Hereford Cattle has been established in the Bayfield area for nearly 100 years. 

We pride ourselves in the highest quality genetics of the breed and work the herd by horse & hand, the way it’s been done for centuries.  Our cattle spend their entire lives on grass as they winter on the home pastures at L-J Ranch and spend their summers in the high country overlooking Vallecito Lake.  We believe in raising our cattle from start to finish, in the most humane and gentle way and are grateful to sell our harvest locally to families who value knowing where their food comes from.

Our grass-fed USDA approved beef is processed through Sunnyside Meats and available year-round.  Purchasing beef from local ranchers like us provides a host of benefits that go beyond simply acquiring meat.
